how do I get soundpack to work
« on: September 24, 2011, 02:15:35 AM »
I have taken some of the soundpacks that are available in the forums and consolidated them into a single pack, unfortunately when I try them in the game they aren't recognized and the stock sounds is all I get. I didn't change anything from the original soundpacks other than putting them together in a pack that I like but it won't use them, any help is appreciated.
I would rather try and fail, than not try at all. (paraphrased)

create a folder called sounds under c:\hitech creations\aces high make sure all of the sounds are in separate sub folders for each aircraft type that you want to use custom sounds, then put those folders into the sounds folder you created.

I already have all the subfolders, named, and listed as sounds, just won't work.

If you have this setup:

/Aces High/Sounds/Bf109E4/engstart.wav

It will work.  If you deviate from that, it won't.

My guess is your sounds are still zipped or you have something like:

/Aces High/Sounds/Sounds/Bf109E4/engstart.wav
