From my GF who works at NTSB :
« on: June 19, 2001, 09:18:00 PM »
"On June 15, 2001, at 0410 central daylight time, a Cessna 182A single-engine airplane, N6353B, was substantially damaged when it impacted power lines and terrain while maneuvering near Baytown, Texas. The 2 individuals, who were not pilots and were flying the airplane, were not injured. Dark night visual meteorological conditions prevailed and a flight plan was obviously not filed for the non-regulated flight. The local joyride departed a private grass airstrip at 0330.
According to the FAA inspector, who responded to the accident site, two juvenile delinquents broke into a private hangar, shot up one of the airplanes parked inside with 200 rounds of ammunition, and stole the Cessna 182A. They somehow figured out how to start, taxi, and takeoff the airplane and eventually flew it into 150-foot tall power lines. The airplane then impacted a rice field and slid 200 feet. The bandits left their weapons and ammunition in the wreckage and proceeded to the nearest trailer park, where they took it upon themselves to relieve a trailer home owner of his weapons. A shoot out with the local authorities ensued and the juveniles were eventually detained."

Ok ... so ... who didn't checked out for the squad night in AH yesterday?

[edit]Speaking of illiterate   I never heard about this.

Odd thing, there are no rice fields in Baytown...or grass strips. There's the a grass field at RWJ, but it's 10 or 20 miles east of Baytown. The Baytown field (HPY) is concrete, and it's the only strip around, save the Angle Brother's mansion. But all they've got is a King Air, and the closest trailer park is 5 or 6 miles away from there.

Can't believe I haven't heard this, I've been out at the airport every day this week.

Hehe thats pretty funny all things considered, I mean with the check list screwed into the dash, you'd have to be illiterate to not get it started   :)

Impossible.

All original 182A's did NOT have combat trim. Plus, they would have been found passed out looking for the big "E" ignition switch.

Don't forget all of the anger that would build up inside of them as they search for the button that opens "channel 1" so they can tell each other how dweeby they are.
