I've had a few Vettes, and still have my 76 Stingray that I inherited (can't sell or risk angering relatives), and after the 3rd Z06 showed up on my block with another C6, I decided I didn't want to be a conformist with everyone else in town and traded + cash for my 2nd Viper (first was a 1994 that I owned way back in 96, along with a 95 Stealth Turbo..yes I was a modern Mopar Geek).
can never get sick of seeing a piece of art from when dodge knew how to build cars
. Hold your horses there sport
I got really sick last year and wasn't able to put a single mile on my bike this season, which is probably the thing that PO'd me the most...even more than the x-wife taking my car in the split. My Duramax is Duramax#2, and I traded my 2003 SLT for the one I'm driving now, plus a docile lift kit. My first Diesel Chev went 250k miles with only the gear changing stock needing replacing, along with a factory recall on the dash cluster, which both were free of charge. The only thing that's gone wrong with my current Duramax is the heater for the windshield washer fluid (stupid idea anyhow, even though it was functional I guess) konked out at 120k. Great trucks.
The "BOB" Harley is my first HD bike, and for the year I rode it I had a great time. My previous bike was a 2000 Honda VTR 1000, which was a V-Twin bike....what a difference Harley's vtwins are in terms of how they put down the power. The riding position is a lot more comfortable for riding longer than an hour too, hah.
Some real nice rides in this thread....I especially like Shufflers green Camaro, if my new wonder drug for Lupus that's coming out this month works as advertised I'll be back in the sports car/bike thing next year, and a Camaro just like that but silver will be in my garage. I can't say enough great things about them after tearing through a neighbor's one afternoon. I must admit the new 5.0 Mustang's will get a close look however before I plunk done my $.
Stampf...SICK Mopar ride, very nice.
Joe-a-chemm...I HATE guys like you that drive x-L/E rides..make me slow down for no good reason all the time
.
As for the OP, wife #1 went through a YJ and 2 TJ's over 8 years, and I really liked them for their versatility, although the 4 banger TJ was a bit buzzy on the highway, the 6 cyl was excellent. How are those newer 4 door Jeeps on the highway? Is performance off road similar to the older TJ's? Seems a high percentage of AH players drive Jeeps. For 22$k new, the 2003 TJ being the last one that was in my family, they are truly a steal. They are perfect for up here in Canada with our temperature/weather/driving condition swings. I found that I needed a fair bit of weight in the back with the factory tires in the snow/ice during winter, but switching to winter tires made it pretty much unstoppable. Summer time with the roof/doors off...you know I think I'm convincing myself to pick up a used 97/98 TJ for a summer project for next year as well.
