CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO FIRE ROCKETS ON THE PT-BOAT?
How do you "land successfully" with the carrier group?

Thank you.

Press 'O' to open the the tubes..when you do this you will see them move...use your secondary fire button to fire....if you have torps ensure you have rockets selected.

as for landing....I have no idea......hit and miss from my point of view  hahaha

Position 7 is where you fire rockets from.

To land successfully, you have to be within the perimeter of the task group and be at a full stop.  The way I like to do it is to speed out in front of the CV (to about where the Cruiser is) and then slow down by going into reverse.  Watch your speed indicator, and at 0 turn off the engine.  At that point you should be within the perimeter of the TG and can end your sortie with a successful landing.

You can also get a successful landing if you launch from a port, then return to that same port and make a full stop alongside a pier.  I don't see this being used very often because of the distance of the spawn point.

If you're...

1.  Very patient and drive your PT back to port.

Or

2.  Defending the port you launched from, then this is a method you could use.

Thank you Jager.

I have found that doing what you say works. But, I don't slow down, I cut the engines. When the water is no longer splashing off the hull, I have a successful landing. I only get a couple boat lengths ahead of the CV before shut down.

Thank you very much.

Shift + S will stop you without you needing to reverse now. Watch the thtottles, gear indicator and speedometer. When it says 0 now you're not moving. In the past I would look for a wake but the "auto-stop" seems pretty dependable now.

Thanks all for the info. One last question:

Bombers can take people on as gunners. I can't get people to man the guns while I drive/gun the PT. They only become Observers. Is there something I'm missing or is that the way it is. PT's would be more effective if separate gunners were on-board.

Thanks all.

Just a friendly tip based on an observation of your initial post in this thread.

Last time someone joined my pt as a gunner caused neither of us to be able to shoot any of the guns.
