The theft died, I don't think the vet. Will get pit in jail, it was an act if self defense

idiot-slaughter is perfectly fine if you have a good reason behind it such as self defense.

but i have to say that if your going to punish an idiot for being well...an idiot, at least let him live to suffer for it. the pain would be much better than the death as punishment IMO....

Very unlikely.  Police have deemed it self-defense but still sent it to the prosecutor (article indicates it's standard practice to do this).  More than likely the AGs office will choose to not press any charges.

Agreed and I hope for the best outcome, but these days AGs and DAs can be a strange breed.  You hear those wierd stories about the guy who shot a burglar 3-times in one incident - the first shot was justified and a freebie, but those last two they're gonna persue criminal prosecution on.
