Dunno about that. The last three PAC setups were "Ketsu-Go" (1945), "Dillingers Wake" (1943) and "Burma Backwater" (1943). One LW and two MW. We have not seen a 1942 PAC setup since "Rangoon Sunrise" in May 2010 some 16 months ago, and you have to back farther than that to find a 1942 PAC setup with CVs. I think that was "Miracle at Midway" in 2009. Its been awhile.

Go rent "Midway" (1976) and you will be all set by next week.  ;)

Now we really need the PBY for the game.  They were the scouts.

I agree as well. PBY's were used as scouts in PTO and ETO. So instead of using B25 and G4M1's as scout for such things as umm let me think... Coral sea?  :devil

The Japanese used very long ropes (2 kilometers in length) for human kites pulled by motorized boats.

The PBY "Catalina" and the H6K "Mavis" are not the only significant planes missing from the plane set for early 1942 PTO.  We lack the TBD "Devastator" (which is also pretty key for a Midway event) and the early F4F-3 "Wildcat" which had non-folding wings, only four .50 caliber guns, and weighed some 300-400 pounds less than the F4F-4 we do have.  An F4F-7 photo-recon version would be nice to have, but is probably not critical.

Wasnt the TBD just a TBM built by another company?  IIRC it was the same as the F4Us contracted out to Goodyear and other companies.  I could very well be wrong though and it wouldnt be the first time.  :devil

You're confusing TBF and TBM Avengers.  The TBD Devastator is an early war torpedo bomber.

Totally different aircraft: The Douglas TBD "Devastator" was put into squadron service in 1937.  The Grumman TBF "Avenger" was introduced in 1942.  The Grumman TBM was a version of the TBF, only change was that it was built by General Motors.
