I'm pretty sure my heart attack was more serious, but when I was in the Coast Guard I got food poisoning from bad fish. I wound up sleeping in the shower with it turned on because I didn't have the strength to move anymore and I had lost all control of explosive bodily functions.  :pray

Tac you owe me a new keyboard ya sod!!

2nd most serious time I spent in hospital was after seeing one of the navy's scab lifters - gave me amoxycillin for a chest infection. That was when I found out I was allergic to amoxycillin. Was on the way to pick exwife up from where she was working, pushing daughter in pram. Came to a crossing, got half way across and collapsed. Ambulance took me to the naval hospital in Plymouth (where exwife was working in Casualty). Door opened and out came daughter in pram, followed by me on a trolley still holding the handles lol......She wasnt happy. That said, neither was I. Shipmates were, stopped them sailing for 2 weeks as I underwent tests for Legionaires disease and various other things.

6 weeks of hourly blood taking - put me off needles I can tell ya lol.......

Best thing tho, I had a television in my isolation room, so I could watch the rugby in peace and quiet!!!.

I had a tooth infection, it started while I was in Iraq, pulled the tooth in Baghdad, came home, dentist put an implant, a titanium spike to receive a fake tooth, it came out, came back home, another implant, it broke away from the bone, OUCH.  Then the tooth next to the original started to decay, turns out the infection from the original moved to the next tooth. They pulled it, and then put me on Antibiotics.  Very serious antibiotics, I literally spent a week on the commode, if I was awake I was setting on the throne.  You have heard about ring around the collar, I had ring around the butt cheeks, that took 3 weeks to go away.I thought I was going to die from dehydration, thank god I have a loving wife, she would walk thru the stench to bring me water.  My sense of smell hasn't been the same sense.

I once had eye pain that caused me to puke for hours.

Never felt anything like it before or since.

I was thinking of looking for an ice skate so I could poke my eye out.

Wasn't really sick, though.

Woke up back in March to what felt like total paralysis. i could not move, could not set up. if i tried, it felt like my back was broken.  i had no idea what was going on. no one was home. and it felt like i was bleeding. i was able to reach for the phone next to my ed and dial 911, but i couldnt actually bring it up to my face to speak. So i just kept hanging up and dialing. they eventually sent someone out. which i yelled as loud as i could for them. they heard me.

I was taken to the hospital, im not sure what all they did. Because they gased me a few mins after i got there. But from what i understand, i had a(its pronounce sythe, but i dont believe its spelled like that) that had actually dug into my lower back. and attached itself to my spine. it was starting to grow up my spine, which was what had caused my paralysis. luckily, they were able to remove it. but boy, the headache i had from being gased was worse than any of the pain that thing had caused me. they say i prob picked it up from playing so much football. the dirt and everything.

it got worse tho, they gave me some medicine after i was released.  what they didn't know tho, was that i have high blood pressure. one of the pills i was taking was raising my blood pressure. until one day i was coming out of a gas station with my cousin and i was feeling very very lightheaded, my knees kept getting weak, then finally i just kind passed out. Ending up slamming my head against the hood of his car.

Im better now, and dont seem to have anything wrong with me. but that was the sickest ive ever been.

Do you mean a cyst? Pilonidal cysts can be very nasty (in more ways than one) if left untreated.
