If you ask the FOSS people, they'll list plenty. But ask them have they seen any sane person using them also :)

Those do not appear to be open source alternatives but bootleg software.  There is a difference.

windows movie maker.  it's not as detailed but it's free.  you can get sony vegas for as little as 40 bucks when it goes on sale.

Had a look at Corel Videostudio ( http://www.corel.com/servlet/Satellite/nz/en/Product/1311364114828#tabview=tab0 ) - used to be Ulead. It's pretty damn good bang per buck.

he probably is mistaking FOSS for FOIS , FOIS use to be on  mIRC  back in the warez days, not sure if they are still around or not though..... or it might of ben spelt as FIOS , I can't remember was long ago I came across their stuff

here it's 86 bucks.  it goes on sale every month for about 40 bucks after a rebate.
