OKLAHOMA DDAY a event i have dreamed about attending
« on: October 02, 2011, 02:24:10 PM »
For those of you that don’t know me very well, I love to paintball. IV had been playing since I was 12 at the same field that I now volunteer at. Its something that has always got my adrenaline pumping and I couldn’t help but to fall in love with woods ball, (woods ball is a playing style of paintball I prefer most.) This reenactment event in Oklahoma has over 4,000 players over its 4 day period and 15,000 camping on sight. Its 710 acres of which 500 is used just for the event, incredible props, and as historical as possible within reason all the way down to actual companies and armies complete with realistic uniforms and actual armor support. Oh how I wish I was there.

Some documentaries.

Have fun with this!!!  Scenario games are MUCH more fun than the caged events.  I've played a number of scenario games near Omaha and had a blast.  I seemed to always be one of the few to hold out.  I carry extra air tanks, 8 pods worth of reloads, and my Tippmann Mesiah (with a few minor mods) just keeps firing and firing.   :aok

i have a alpha black upgraded until i couldn't, a tpx pistol in case it fails, and a huge light fiberglass tank 70cu 4500 psi. everything i have is no longer on a belt but now on a molle strap vest so all the weight is distributed.

Iv seen several people online take actual gun parts and apply them to paintball markers (markers = gun). from 1919 .30s to custom bolt action rifles with an actual rifle stocks. All you need is to apply the parts need be.

I can see it now... a company of paintballers lined up in 2 ranks of 50, with a Sgt or Lt hollering out volley fire commands...  only 3 rounds per minute but dang, when the hammer falls on the cap... BOOM... and 100 paintballs sail the typical 40 yards and make one heck of a mess.  That'd be fun!  hahah!!!   :rofl

White smoke and all.   :lol

Actually had something like that at a field I played at.  The whole field would stop in the afternoon and everyone would split into two teams.  They'd line up single file and get faaar away from one another.  One shot volleys began, with a step forward in between volleys :lol

oh yes seeing the white elephant. its really neat seeing a line of soldiers from one end to the other and a volley fire called for the whole line to fire. then company fire. really neat having your hearing lose being so close to that. artillary is worst on the reciving end. the concosion from them can be felt 75 to a 100 yards away something like that. that could shot alot of paintballs at a time, grapeshot as it where. i remember my first event running up and down gullies slipping sliding in a light rain 80% humidity. also had a friend with me that was a vietnam vet. it dawned on me this might be simular to what he experiance then, and i thought oh crap no flash back now please. watching from my van a thundar storm passing over and all the kids fireing there weapons in there underroos lmfao the whole time. dont know how there kept there powder dry to do all that.

Planning on attending D-Day 2012, eh? May I refer you to this site?

And here's a forum post I made earlier before D-Day 2011.

I've been to OK D-Day 09 and '11. It is an experience like none other for the avid paintballer and I hope to see you there as a member of the Allied Army. The 1st ID needs every helping grunt we can get in order to take the dreaded Omaha Beach. The D-Day '11 big game we took the guns on Omaha Beach along with the town of Colleville in record time. Heck, we even beat elements of the 101st AB and British commonwealth to the objective. When they met us at the top of the hill they started firing on us because they just knew we had to be Germans! lol

Thats me sitting down in front of our AT gun along with the rest of the 1st ID Special Operations Group (SOG). I manned the gun defending Colleville from German counter-attacks and took out 2 tanks and 1 troop carrier.
