midway - 2nd of 3 new terrains for the AvA
« on: October 03, 2011, 03:21:57 PM »

These terrains should be available for the AvA in the usual two weeks. ;)

Direct Link: http://members.dslextreme.com/users/easyscor/3terrains/midway.res (offline preview)
or use
http://members.dslextreme.com/users/easyscor/3terrains/ to access all the files at once.

This (directory) link is to the offline version of the new midway terrain.
The directory link provides the res file, and optionally a complete set of zipped in-game maps for all three terrains; 3terrains.zip.

Install as follows:
Download and move the res file(s) to your AH terrain folder:
C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\ahiiterr

If you don't want the otional Clipboard map files, or the .pln and .fld files, you're good to go.
_____________________________ _____________________________ _

To install the Clipboard Map files in the game:
You need only download the 3terrains.zip one time for all three terrains.

Unzip the 3terrains.zip file, open the resulting folder and drag all the bitmaps and .lst files to your AH map folder:
C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\maps

Note: The .lst text file associates the correct bitmaps to each specific terrain in-game.

To install the intended planeset in-game:
You need only download the pln_fld.zip file one time for all three terrains.

Unzip the pln_fld.zip file, open the resulting folder and drag all the files to your C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High\ahiiterr folder (the same one as the .res files.)
Other Notes:
All planes are enabled in the soccer terrain.
Use the dot command: .eplane 0 0 to enable all planes at all fields.
Easy in-game again.

Hey bud, beautiful man beautiful! Have a question and dont want to look stupid. Do I have to download the terrain editor from HT Website, then do all this stuff? And does it give you the option of layering and all that good stuff...as far as grabbing old Topographic maps and building from that? Did you do that with this one?

I don't think I understand the question. The res file is all you need to fly a terrain.

The 3terrain.zip contains CBM files of the Midway Island base, Sand Island base, the V-Base in the Soccer War terrain, the custom airfield in avasml, and Three Bridges; the tank town in avasml. All these are custom bases you've never seen before.

If it's a question of using the TE, you can PM me.
Easy in-game again.

You won't need to do anything.

These are completed terrains and all you have to do is put the files in the appropriate folders in the parent aces high folder you already have.
