Computer-TV
« on: February 27, 2012, 05:26:57 PM »
I may or may not be hooking up my computer tonight to the 46" TV in the social room of my house. If I do it will be via the HDMI Cable. the TV obviously has speakers onboard, but will those work with the HDMI Cable or will I have to hookup speakers with minimal room to do so? Also, are there any settings I should change to the visual settings on the TV?

Noob questions, I know, but never done it before.

Hmmm  actually...thinking about it...is the HDMI native to the PC ..... if it is not then maybe you will have to set up sound as separate....not sure if sound is picked up through a Graphics card...

I only know that the laptop at home has native HDMI and works pic and sound which is where my initial yes it will came from.

Most recent video cards have a sound chip on board.

You may have to install the sound driver for the 6870 though - it may not be installed as it is.

i run a 6870 card on a 42" 1080p TV screen. may take a little playing around with the settings in catalyst to get the best picture settings, but after that it looks good. keep in mind, the higher you set your res at the tinier your script on any normal out of game pages becomes. if you have good eyes this isn't and issue but if you need really thick glasses you may have to take that into consideration when setting up your screen.

your audio drivers should have been installed when you installed the drivers for the card, if not then just go to radeon and dl the latest driver for your card and the audio drivers will be installed with the video drivers. when i want it to my audio comes through the tv without any problems. i normally use headphones, but i can switch between the 2 without any issues.
