When I was a kid, yes

When I was a teenager, mostly no

Now I'm an adult, yes

:)
Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?
I'll be seeing you face to face possibly next month.

I've always looked up to my dad and have always wanted to be like him when I reach his age. He's pissed me off before but he always admits when he's made a mistake (but he's more quickly forgiving of me than I am of him, a flaw I still haven't grown out of). I'm more cold than he is, and we don't really see eye-to-eye on everything anymore, but I think it's a sign that I'm deciding for myself who exactly I want to be, and just using his example of character that I've grown up with as a place to start.

You know, I'm still young (compared to some of the guys here), and I still get into fights with my parents every now and then. I know some of you lost your parents, and I know some still live with theirs ( :P). But let me ask you something, did you guys ever liked them? If it weren't for the fact that they were your parents and brought you into this world, and you met them as a stranger, would you have been able to get along with them?

I know I can't. My dad is the quiet, study hard type of person, and I'm the total opposite, I just don't know how guys like him make it through a day staying quiet ALL day.

My mom is the typical ..... you know what. Can't stand her at all and acts like a control freak for every single little thing.

Not to sound like a whining 10 year old, but that's the truth. I love them, I care for them, and they care for me, but god, I think that I'm mature enough to say that 10 years ago, when I said "When I grow up, I'll never be like you", I think I was right.

i never knew my dad. from what i'm told of him, i wouldn't like him if i met him on the street. if it ever happens, i will form my own opinion though.

if i met either of my grand parents(they raised me) on the street, i would like them. they were great people. if i met mom on the street, i'd like her a little, but she comes at people with this "holier than thou" attitude way too often, which would make it hard. now don't get me wrong....i love her to death.........but i can't stand that attitude.
that said, if someone got on her case about it, they'd have a pretty angry, and unruly person to deal with(me).

Yep... Have a kid and realize one day you turned into your dad.  It will mess with your mind.

First time when my son was little he became really sick. I called my mother and apologized for every headache and heartache I ever put her through.

The older you get. The smarter your parents seem to become.
Mark Twain said "When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years."

course in Twains day 14 was almost a man and 21 was. Any event. By the time you are your parents current age. They will be Einstein like genius's

all that being said.

I love my mother dearly and with all my heart. And when she comes to visit its nice to have her. And after a month of living with her when she goes home. Its nice to see her leave.
