It would be awesome, Id probably see this quite a bit as most of my fights are on the deck turning.

Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?
I'll be seeing you face to face possibly next month.

I am actually looking around all the time in fights on the deck. . . actually, other then trying to get a gun solution at the end of a maneuver I kep my eye on the con all the time.  No need to see in front of you since you get a sense for what is happening.

Engine trails would add to the store of information I can gleen about a con - direction, G, E, pulling, how hard. . .all that.  Oh, and bomber trails are because of alt. . .not G.

some of you are still seeing nothing but "kewl"...you should look up what factors are involved with the formation of wingtip vortices...why they mostly occur during take off and landing...and what happens to the air around the aircraft creating them.

*hint* wake turbulence

still more realistic than the plane exploding from a pilot kill, but that's still kewl and fun.

Considering it would only take a few days to code and draw it (just a guess) then why not?

you must be one of the few who think the exploding pilot kill is kewl and fun. what is a "few days" in your estimation? 2, 3, 7, 30, 60...? how about adding the effects of wake turbulence while we're at it to really make it kewl and fun?

I was actualy one of the people who wished for a new animation other than the exploding pilot. They kindly added it for us recently. Hmm, you underestimate my desire for a simulation but you also fail to see that a mix of realism and fun is the key to a great game. If it's such a bad thing tell me the down side to adding this simple effect.

I suppose flying sharks with frikken lazers and the like should never be worked on again in future, unrealistic.
Kewl and Fun things should have no place here! This is serious shiz.

ok, semp...i'll play your silly game. what about this idea?

the op thinks the visible vortice effects should be random and based on altitude/g-forces. the last air show you went to, did you happen to see any visible vortice trails off the wings of any prop planes performing high g maneuvers?

considering that the effect is based on aoa at a point when the highest lift factor is reached, rather than g force or altitude, let's just assume it would happen more often than realistic. would you object to including the wake turbulence that effects the airflow out to say 1000+ meters behind the airplane?

It's the people that aren't into the cool factor that probably fly around with weapon effects off and skins off and the graphics turned all the way down as well I would guess. If it's a switchable on/off effect I would like to see this added. This way the people that aren't into the cool factor can turn off the cool factor and be happy and it would then be a win/win.  :old:

I would like to see as realistic as possible representation of vortices, as you say Gyrene. I would love to see prop wash coded in also.
