The local news station posted a video that someone took on their balcony, it looks really bad, i'm amazed people still have power, and is it true? 90 mph winds?!  :uhoh

There have been 3 or 4 confirmed sightings of tornadoes in Alaska.

While lightning is common in the interior of Alaska, back in the 80s a lightning storm made the front page of the Anchorage paper because it was so rare here.

It's quite common to get high winds up here...quite often "hurricane strength"...other than tree limbs and some aircraft damage it usually isn't a big deal.

That's nothing. 130 mph gusts at one of the weather stations up there.
