well this is an artwork thread..so, heres my art.

oh and dicho-i did build it from the ground up. your not presented with the screenshot and told to edit it..it takes a good eye and some patience to get the right angle and all that other good stuff, not to mention the editing of the picture. so yes edited photography IS a form of art that is built from the ground up.  :D

All you Hand-Drawers put me to so much shame it's saddening. :P
Not really a drawer, or an artist, I just dabble at times when I get really bored, and I mean really bored.

Nobody is denying it's a form of art.

It's just not the form of art for this thread.

Last time I posted this, I got accused of altering the photo with Photoshop rather than just drawing it freehand. It became a whole big nasty deal. All I'll say is that this was totally freehand, didn't even use as grid, and it took me an incredible amount of time.

:aok Very nice Madda. Just one small criticism (although it proves for sure you didn't Photoshop), the second soldier from the right, his right arm doesn't seem to match up with how his hands would be if he was holding the flag. Otherwise, great work.

I actually think that if you look at it, and look at the actual photograph, the arm odd lined up about right really. That is just a support hand, it's just resting on the pole, not lifting.

I will say though that I think I got some of the hands a bit too small.

I used a grid on that pic of Sydney I'm working on, it saved a lot of time and effort I think.  For some stuff, I'd just much rather free hand it, it's a much more interesting process

Heya, just had a lot of real life get in the way for a while.  I'm looking at December or January before I can get back online again.  I've been on the phone internet, which is ok, but makes using the forums tough.

After looking at you guys' work, my own pales in comparison. But, never-the-less, here are a few random ones from my sketch book I used to draw in back in "the day." (look at the dates... they range between 1989 and 1994, when I was in school and had time. Someday I dream of having time for that again, someday.

Just like a lot of teens, I was a little into D&D in the early '80's and demons and goblins provided interesting subjects

I drew a picture of my first car once, from a photo of, not much shading, just line mostly....

A picture of a Marine in Viet Nam from a photo from a history book....

I used to want to be this guy (I still do, but I turn 40 this week, so that dream is gone, as far as I got would be a drawing of a goofy guy wearing some David Clark's sitting in a Cessna)

Looking good Reaper!  :aok

The Vietnam soldier is my favorite.
