sorry children, no matter how much you like the word, not everything is "epic."   who cares what people said 200 years ago or even 2 years ago.    wrong is wrong.     realize it.

How do you know it's not lag?

I am actually gong to have to agree with Tyrannis on this one.  There is sound along with the shaking and when it does lag it is very noticeable.  I am not sure why the shaking happens but my theory is it happens when you fly through a wake and when you engage afterburner.  Let me do some research becuase I am not 100% sure.

Apparently the shaking might be turbulence.

I am asking how you can tell the difference between shaking from lag and shaking from turbulence.  Unless you know something I don't, lag spikes' acceleration onto player/aircraft position would translate into the same cockpit POV/sound/etc effects as turbulence.

I don't see anything "epic" about a kill needing guns and two missiles...

Epic?

Not impressed.

Now, Schatzi in a Hurri Mk1 was epic...

If it was lag, the plane would of jumped back and forth in a jagged motion. or "Warping". and the sound would not of been so on par with the movements. it would of been delayed. similier to how your screen flickers, etc.

That jets shaking is,again, too smooth. the music follows the movement perfectly. And the jet he's chasing is not warping. But running smoothly aswell.  if it was lagging, that jet would of been bouncing back & forth on the screen.

The shaking is from the shock waves of explosions. DICE has a habit of making even the littlest explosion on the map felt by everyone.

Say he happened to fly over an abrams, who at that moment had shot a fuel depot. The shock wave from the fuel depots explosion would cause the jet to shake like that.

Can it just be caused by the pilot using afterburners?

If your looking for an epic ground combat game then buy BF3.

If your looking for an epic ground and air combat game then dont buy it. The air componant and flight model sucks and even most joysticks arent supported. Theres no TrackIR and even if you do manage to grab a jet, flying it with board and mouse, you'll have hoardes of 14yos slinging Manpads at you. Despite the eye candy and fancy damage model it is NOT a good flight game.

But.... If you, somehow, manage to put up with all that.. You can obliterate ground units.  One pass with full cannon burst (till it overheats) on target will fry anything.

All right except for the explosions part.

Yeah and it is really easy to avoid the shoulder mounted SAMs and AA vehicles.  You take a pass wait for the enemy missile to lock and launch flares then you just have to be moving fast enough to stay out of the mini-gun and 50cal fire.  rinse and repeat.  Since the air combat in Aces High is so difficult and SA is required it is to easy to defeat the run of the mill noobs in bf3 most of which are flying with mouse and keyboard.  I killed 15 jets in a row and the other team complained about me and said they wouldn't fly anymore becuase I was a sweetheart or whatever.  So I proceeded to strafe all of their armored vehicles to hell.
