I don't recall if he flew very much because of his work (if I'm thinking of the right guy). I think he just enjoyed the skin work. It's possible he moved on or just found other artistic outlets.
I like his artwork, definitely his color choice, and his subject matter. I never was happy with the end result, because it looked "flat" -- but I suspect this was merely a materials.txt issue making it look funny. The artwork was decent.
