Seems Falcon 4.0 has been updated with all new graphics, new flight model, and a fully functional 3d cockpit, so no more 2D.

It's been out for a while. I tried it but I didn't have the time to read through the 5 different manuals to find out how to get the ILS to work.

Ah Falcon...  In the late 80's, when I was in college, we used to go to the CAD computer lab in the middle of the night when nobody else was around, hook two computers together with a serial cable and dogfight until morning.  Good times!

Man I'd love to see a WWII sim that purty. Especially one that doesn't have Maddox's fanboys clinging to it and throwing feces at anyone who makes the slightest criticism.

I wonder if it's possible to do a WWII TC for Falcon 4.0....
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

It'll work great James, I've been flying this since it came out.  It's a truly incredible update to Falcon, but you need the original Falcon 4.0 CD to get it to work, there ARE workarounds to this, but it's a huge PITA.  I've found this latest BRS update to be the best variant of the Falcon series period.  As good as Allied Force is/was and the same with FreeFalcon...well this just blows them all out of the water.  The documents are frustrating for new players, as they assume you are familiar with how everything works, especially the avionics from past versions like FF and AF, and the basics are glossed over.  You absolutely need the manuals and docs from freefalcon and Allied force or you're be pretty screwed out of the gate.  That said, after a couple days of familiarization with the systems, you'll be able to take full advantage of everything they have done with the new game.  Hands down the best campaign ever devised, and the actual "sim" part of the game is as good as anything current like A10, flaming cliffs, or KA52 and so on.

For a free game it's hands down the biggest accomplishment in PC combat aviation simulations since...well Aces High was first introduced in my opinion.

Yep Its actually not called Falcon 4.0 but Falcon 5.0 now. It runs fine on Windows 7, full graphics are not an issue for my laptop (which means anyone with a PC faster then a Tandy can run it) :D

However, good luck with the manual, still have the original, and it was over 440 pages.
