game crash when bombers are shot down

Ever since the new patch i have been seeing that almost 100% of the time, when somone shoots down one or 2 of my bombers the game will crash and it goes directly to desktop. most of the time it is when the 2nd drone is hit. but in the last month i have experianced crashs that i have never gotten befor. I did a full clean of my pc harddrive (its only used for this game so nothing else is on it) re installed everything to make sure it wasnt something on my end. but its making so i cant fly bombers if i even have a chance of getting shot.  any more info you need ill be glad to share.

are you using a custom sound pack? If so move the "sounds" folder some place else (like the desktop) so the game won't use it and try again. A corrupt sound can cause this.

Hmmmm..   were they lancs by chance?
 I sent a film in recently where I got a lanc flaming...took the wing off another they both continued to fly and whilst I was in the middle of working the third they disappeared...funny (weird) part of it all is when they disappeared I lost the entire tail of my plane....

I don't know whether changing gunner position has anything to do with it but my game has crashed on two different occasions.

Once in Lancs when dragonh5 had killed two of my drones and I was about to climb up to his stalled hog and let him have it with my nose gunner. 

The second was in B26's whilst shifting gunner under attack again. 

Never happened before last patch.

I shot down Bhawk51 yesterday and about the same thing happened. First pass I took out one of his planes went into zoom climb to set up second pass. Looked over my right wing and both other planes are gone....no proxys either

bruv brings up a point i overlooked, i do beleave i was changing gunner positions every time.

Fugitive i do now have a cusome sounds pack, but i had the problem befor i installed it, as well i do have the origanal sounds folder on the desktop as you suggested. but ty for the insight.

SPKmes i have experianced it in everything but lanc's only because i dont fly them much, off hand i rember B17's Ki's and Ju88's probubly a few others as well but them 3 im sure of.

when i get time later i will try to see if the gunner switching has anything to do with it. and ty all so far for the replys.

 :ahandI have also had issues with disco's in bombers, although mine seems to happen when am engaged with more than one fighter. My screen freezes and am kicked from the game also have had issues while gunning!!! Oh and 16 + boots & counting! and it only happens when am engaged!!

1)  Were you filming at the time of the disco?

2)  What gunner position were you in, if any?

3)  Did you have someone gunning for you?

Same experience as well~ Game crashes from gunner position in B-26s, B-24s and Lancs after 1st or second bird destroyed. Get bumped into cockpit view, all gun positions firing uncontrollably, then disco. Attackers have reported getting 1 or more proxies kills. Very frustrating

No saved films, obviously, because of disco, but film rolling. FR seems to dip dangerously low more than ever too.

If you are auto filming the game will save the sortie if you disco or are ditched from the game... These just fall under the old number system within your films folder...you might just have the film you need

Ill look for films (but off hand i dont think i was, or it was a 50% type thing, filming 50% of the time) but ill get back to you on that.

For gunner position itdidnt seem to matter, usually i was switching between on or the other (its kind of hard to tell just exactly what moment it happens as im under attack lol.

And lastly No. No one was ever gunning for me.

Edit: no films right now (as i cleared out the PC trying to fix it), as im sure it will happen again, when i have time to log on later tonight i will film it and then send it to you as soon as possable. hope it helps.

When ever I get into bombers my grame rate drops about 2 or 4 until I get some alt. FBBob also discos when he gets into bombers as well alot of times.

this happened to me a couple of weeks ago.  I was having lots of game crashes, then i looked at my film folder there was about 500 there.  I moved them to another folder no crashes anymore.

I haven't had any crashing...  Just landed successfully messages in an IL2 when I was shot down and in the gunner position.

same   crash when moving from bombardier to nose gun in lancs twice today  I have film   . will send if needed.
