Tebow's throwing motion
« on: November 28, 2011, 11:56:43 AM »
Hi there,

My question is a serious question about Tebow's throwing motion. I believe that his throwing deficiencies can be corrected to a certain extent and be a better pocket passer.  It may take 1-2 seasons more, but I think if he is a willing pupil, he can improve a lot and be a very good QB in the league.

Where do you guys stand on this?  Do you agree with me or do you think his throwing motion is beyond adjustment this part of his life?

I am not a denver fan - fyi.

Silk purse, sow's ear. He'll never be an "elite" NFL QB, but he's better than Orton.

I was not under the impression that the NFL was football school.

I think he can become a better pocket-passer type QB. It will take time, but he will get the motion and make better decisions.

The biggest problem with QB's like Tebow and other option type QBs is that they start to fall apart and injuries force them to become standard QBs. Usually when this happens, it is too late.
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

He's another Kordell Stewart, except Stewart could throw the ball.

I disagree.  Orton is capable of taking an elite team to the Super Bowl and winning it.  We've seen mediocre-but-reliable QBs do just that many times in the past.  Tebow is merely able to take a bad team and win a game over a mediocre opponent.  Tebow is not able to pass the ball effectively enough to get to the Super Bowl (unless as the OP implies is possible, he improves his passing skills).

This is the Captain.  We have a lil' problem with our entry sequence so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

lol, it's not a coincidence that orton went 1-4 as a starter this year and tebow is 5-1.  Tebow is better.

The original question is:

Can Tebow's throwing motion in the pocket be corrected to a decent level?  Or is he not able to make the adjustment?

No... he's short on ability.

Honestly I didnt think Tebow would cut it as a QB in the NFL but hes proven himself (to a degree) now yes he needs to work on his motor skills but he also has to "mature" as far as his vision and decision making go.

As far as motor skills i think they will work with that over the summer in training. So next year i expect him to play better, faster, and maybe most importantly smarter.

Just my nickels worth.
