armor by choice, preferably German armor, but soviet is fine too. Not that I'll turn down a good book about aircraft.
Back in 2005 I had a chance to visit Normandy with some old Airwarrior types. We had about a week in a rented place near Cauvicourt France, less then a mile from where Michael Wittmann was killed in his Tiger I by a Firefly gunner. Needless to say being in such a historic area made for a need to learn more about it.
So my shelf has the following on it that are all good books on the battle in Normandy to Falaise Gap.
"Sons of the Reich-II SS Panzer Corps" by Michael Reynolds
"Steel Inferno-1 SS Panzer Corps in Normandy" by Michael Reynolds
"A Fine Night for Tanks-The Road to Falaise" by Ken Tout
"The Bloody Battle for Tilly-Normandy 1944" by Ken Tout
"Tiger Ace-The Life Story of Panzer Commander Michael Wittmann" by Gary L Simpson
"Michael Wittmann and the Waffen SS Tiger Commanders of the Leibstandarte in WW2 Volume II" by Patrick Agte (Covers the Normandy time and beyond)
"No Holding Back-Operation Totalize, Normandy August 1944" by Brian Reid
All these covered the actions near where we stayed and we were able to find spots mentioned along with the occasional Sherman tank, and the only Tiger I still sitting in France where it died in the Gap. It was amazing stuff and any one of these books would keep ya busy
If not that, then Panzer Colors volume I, II, III would do the trick too
