Recently I have manged to kill myself shooting friendlies who were hiding in trees far forward of the ground fight. I would like it if we could put Rook/Knight/Bishop markings on the sides/front of friendly tanks so that they are identifiable when the green name doesn't display.
I had a very frustrating moment last tour when I upped a Tiger 2 to defend a Vbase, fought my way to a ridge, saw a T-34 hiding in some trees facing my direction infront of me, fired one round and very quickly wound up in the tower. Upped an M-18, went back to discover that it had been a friendly T-34.

Figured oh well, but now I've managed to do it again.
Since in World War 2, you could tell by what type of tank whether it was friendly or not, ie: Germans knowing that every T-34 they see should be shot, Americans knowing that every Panzer they see should be shot... in lew of Countries being restricted to sides, could I get a Knight painted on the side of my tank and on the rest of my team's tank so that when I can't see their name I don't end up blowing perks or position for not wanting to expose myself to walk up and ask if that tank is a nice one or not?
