Been waiting for this one for some time.

Ignore all the kay-rap you've heard about this unit over the years, this book is the real deal.

For what it's worth, I don't have any commercial links to the book, but I do correspond with the author.

Looks like a good read. The crucial role that recon groups did during the war can sometimes be overlooked with all the focus on aces and bombers. There were no satellites to take photos in 1944. Those guys flew some very hazardous missions.

Also a lot of recon was low and fast, not too many 5000mm f1.2 lenses around back then... screaming along at tree level in a wooden plane was plenty scary I'm sure.
