this morning on the way to the store last minute christmas shopping.
stop at the end of my street like I have hundreds of times, you need to look both ways carefully as it is on a slight curve.
I am a fortyfive yearold with a good driving record and a family so i am careful.I also commute 120 miles a day for work so I am experienced.
I stop look left, look right start to pull out and BAMM there is a full sized Dodge RAM!!!!! I hit the brakes and miss the guy my wife's eyes were as big as saucers
and I might have pooped a lil.... I think he was in the blind spot of my door post when I looked, also his truck was forest green blending in with the tree's.
my point? be extra careful you never know when the slightest misjudgement could cost you dearly....did I mention my three week old daughter was in the back??
Thank God I missed that truck

Biking can be dangerous... especially if people are texting/driving, talking to their kid in the back seat, and then go to make a turn. Within 25 feet of the turn. Without using signals. and making skidmarks. Because it was icy.

I hate bad drivers. I was on the sidewalk when this happened, too-- not the bike lane.

My strategy is to treat motorcycle riders like mental patients, and other cars like psychopaths on the loose.

Ding ding.

There is no offensive driving on a motorcycle.  Everything is defensive.   :aok

When riding a motorcycle it's best to take position that cage drivers are actively trying to murder you.  You people that think that they just aren't paying attention are giving them too much credit.
