Best 4th place ever
« on: February 20, 2014, 05:32:54 AM »
Been watching the Olympics - Alpine Giants The Netherlands, of all places, came fourth in the women's bobsled. Quite an accomplishment.

To top it off, especially no doubt in the eyes of the Dutch, they beat all three German teams. I don't think they'll ever let the neighbours forget that one...

(and yes, I'm a secret bobsled tragic - wanted to do it but one needs to be big and beefy for that sport, not lean and light on the feet, like me.)
... missions were to be met by the commitment of alerted swarms of fighters, composed of Me 109's and Fw 190's, that were strategically based to protect industrial installations. The inferior capabilities of these fighters against the Mosquitoes made this a hopeless and uneconomical effort. 1.JD KTB

Most people in the world don't know that in many parts of Canada, when you are born they actually use a bobsled or downhill track. The mother starts at the top and if the baby makes it to the bottom.. .They're Canadian!.    :O   (at least that's how I got my citizenship  :D )

So far this Olympics has been great for Canada!

How about that Latvian goaly!? That guy is Neo from the matrix in slow motion!  :x

Indeed the Latvian should have been awarded a medal for his performance alone!  Near the end of the third period he was having a tough time getting up off the ice but he was standing on his head stopping the puck!  I dont recall the total shot count but it was at 50 shots and there was still half the 3rd left! :O

You weren't kidding about the ride... Those Ladies from both teams played their hearts out...

I do think the USA ladies may have thought they had the canucks with being 2 to 0 up with only under 3min.s 40 sec.s left in the 3rd period... They need to learn, never give up playing for the win and playing to the whistle or buzzer...

Canada deserved to win, and they did never give up... Hopefully the us women's team learned that very important lesson today.... I was hoping they had learned it when Canada got them in the preliminaries...earlier.... Appears they did not..

Damn intense last 2 periods ( 3rd and ot )
