Wishlist: POST-war monsters
« on: December 27, 2011, 11:22:57 AM »
I know this is not going to happen but if Skuzzy and company decided to give us an ubber perk barn to choose from what birds should be included?

I start with...
F8F
F9F
P-51H
Dornier 335 Arrow
Spitfire Mark 21/22
Japanese delta wing pusher (forgot nomenclature)

What else?

Fury/Sea Fury
Hornet/Sea Hornet

I don't really think this is a good idea though.  Keep the focus on WWII.  We don't need to constantly one up the existing aircraft with new additions.  If that were to be the case, HTC should have started with 1939 planes and gradually added later ones instead of starting with the P-51D and N1K2-J.

Boo,
not a bad idea, just a few thoughts:

-there arent as many post-war prop fighters. They could be added as a separate arena (not to mix them with the classic WW2 planes). Or, only enable them in the DA.
-dont add jet fighters please
-no bombers please, just dogfight

F7F instead of the F9F
P-38K (or whatever the Merlin-equipped version called)
Hughes XF-11
Twin Mustang maybe
there was a developement of the Jug equipped by a big Chrysler in-line engine, XP-72 maybe, im not sure
that japaneese delta pusher wasnt as an über one, but a predecessor of a planned jet aircraft.
Ta-152C
Fw-190 D-13
2000Hp 109K (better fuel)
Supermarine Spiteful
AoM
City of ice

Fixed...

Skuzzy is just the company's glorifed BaBySitter and network/computer guy (and he's awesome at this)  :aok  HT & Pyro do the coad, Superfly, waffle, greebo, et al do the art/skins.  More or less... altho I'm sure there's some spillover being such a small tight-knit company.

I know this is not going to happen but if HiTech and company decided to give us an ubber perk barn to choose from what birds should be included?

With all the perks I have, I wouldn't mind blowing a few hundred for one of these rides.. especially the Do-335.

The year is 1947.  The wars in the Pacific and Europe continue to rage.  The little-tested Uranium and the untested Plutonium bombs fail to destroy their targets over Japan.  The Wehrmacht, relieved of the madness of Hitler after the successful coup of '44, has declared an armistice with Russia and shifts its focus toward the UK.  New technology abounds in the skies, but who will emerge the victor?

I defer to my "apex aircraft thread" from a few years ago.  If we have an airframe, we should have the first and last versions of it, regardless of service.

What I'd really like to see is folks learning to do more with less of a plane, then always wanting something just a bit more uber.  In terms of performance we've already got birds that hit the upper end of propeller driven fighters.  What you are asking for is just more of the same.

The last thing I hope HTC does is 1946.  If they are going to do something post WW2 then a Korea arena would make more sense to me.  At least there would be some history too it.  You could have your Twin Mustang, Sea Fury, Seafire 47 etc.  But you could also bet folks would spend the majority of their time in 86s or Mig 15s as they'd be the upper end performance birds in the arena.

The last thing I hope HTC does is 1946.

No matter how much I'd love to fly my 335, I am on the same side here.

And if HTC would ever do any kind of "fantasy" arena, I would personally prefer a kind of "crimson skies", with very freely configurable planes....

P-38K (or whatever the Merlin-equipped version called)

There was never a P-38 produced with a Merlin engine and the P-38K was just a test bed aircraft.  Hardly qualifies for a post war variant of the Lightning.
