He Tony Hawk'd it and put a hand down.

But seriously, that was the play of the year in sports IMO.

Now the Bungles need to beat the Ratbirds this week and I will be pleased  :P
There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

Challenge accepted.

fast forward to about 1:40 1:35 ish

Nah.  Players attempt what Rooney did fairly regularly.  Its spectacular that it actually worked, but they attempt it comparitively often.  What Jerome Simpson did is unheard of, and it actually worked.  Simpson's jump > Rooney's goal.

But now it will probably become quite common for people to do it.

What makes rooneys goal amazing was how well he did it. If you watch the tape you'll see that it was just a laser and went straight nine. Which while on the ground is hard enough but upside mid-air? There was nothing the goalie could do about that one.

So front flip touchdown maybe become common and people will no doubt score off of it easily. The bicycle kick while attempted often (i have in several club games and actually made one) is almost never hit well enough to come close to scoring much less with the speed power and accuracy of Rooneys rocket.

No, because almost no one has the ability to jump that high.  It will never be something everyone tries, and the few who try it will fail, unless they are also an elite jumper, let alone acrobatic enough to land on one's feet.

But I can tell we aren't going to change each others mind.  I'll bump this if I remember after the ESPYs if one or the other wins.

This one isn't quite as pretty but happened like 13 years ago.

My favorite moment from the Arizona Wildcats 12-1 season in 1998.

EDIT: In the end zone view slow mo replay, it looks like Jenkins had a little help from the defender in getting flipped over, still, with the game on the line and 12 seconds left, it's pretty cool.
