Thrustmaster Warthog for $229
« on: December 27, 2011, 06:44:44 PM »
I do not know this seller, nor do I endorse this product or seller in any fashion. I just figured maybe someone could get a deal here.

Edit: Everything is incredibly cheap here, I hope this site isn't a scam.

I definitely would create a new email address with a password I don't use anywhere else to register an account on their site.  And then only use a credit card to make the purchase, so that a charge-back can be applied if necessary.  If they don't offer credit card payments, no buy.  And then have the credit card number changed as soon as the product was delivered (or use a one-off credit card number if that feature is offered to you) so that I wouldn't be paranoid of them trying to slip by a phantom charge against it months later.

Googling the web address gives some opinions from people that its a scam based on the "too good to be true, probably is" principle, but you never really know.

The biggest computer wholesaler here - third largest wholesale group for ICT in Europe - sells all kind of household machines, dishwashers, tumbledryers, freezers, ovens and of course vacuum cleaners. Odd or not, the computer and it's peripheral devices such as gaming controllers are common household items today. As futuristic as it may sound, there are refridgerators with internet already on the market...

That of course doesn't tell anything about Toolscamera's reliability. WOT doesn't have any kind of opinion about it yet, neither does McAfee. Yahoo users are against it. Who knows? After all, a whole lot of electronic items are made in China, so they might just get them cheap right from the source. Think about Swipe, whose founding idea was to get products from the line...

Anyway, be it scam or not, be careful. Remember to check for https when giving personal information, use PayPal or a known-good equivalent etc.

Dang they can't even get the product decryption right. I looked at the Logitech G940 and on the pedals it says it has rubber padded pedals. Hmm the one I have has steel covered pedals. Also in the description of the throttle it says "8 way programmable buttons" and it was highlighting the 8 function buttons on the base.

Noticed the rubber along the pedal picture, too, but didn't see the word "padded". For someone not speaking English it would be understandable to mix d and b, them being mirror images of each other. Just like decryption and description can be mixed.  :)
