This is how dumb verizon is
« on: January 02, 2012, 05:05:55 PM »
I opted out early of my cell phone contract for Sprint, and they deleted my online account.  Then they send me an online bill for early termination fee and link me to my deleted account to pay it.  Hmmm...

If you let your contract expire they can't do anything. Send them a turd in the mail.

I was with Sprint for 11 years and had thousands of calls.   I have yet to have a dropped call in almost a year with Verizon.

Where Sprint screwed up with me was a salesman getting greedy in wanting more money for his commission.   He didn't like being called out on his lie.

Maybe you will have better luck with them than I did.

I had a similar thing happened when i got my att iphone a couple of years ago.  I returned it  about 2 weeks later and cancelled because the phone was defective.  but they kept calling me on the cancelled phone to tell me that I still owed them money.  when i got their bill 2 months later I called them to sort it out, the young lady told me they had tried many times to call me but my phone number had been disconnected.  I said sorry, wont happen again next time I disconnect my service.  after about a few  seconds of silence, she started laughing and  apologized for them being idiots and credited my account.

I wanted to relay my experiences with cancelling AT&T, but it was so much of a cluster that I can't even remember what happened. Pretty sure I ended up paying two monthly bills after cancelling (on top of the "early termination fee" that would have been gone in 3 months), though.
