Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

How hard that first take off in the 51 was in the beta after coming over from AW FR on Gamestorm.
Walking out of the tower and out past the base.
Being impressed with the "big names" from sims past all united in one sim and one arena.
Pitch black night fights.

The fight.

having to do as Scotch post and walk from the tower to the map room  or from the map room to the hangar
instead of launching right on the runway. You had to taxi out from the "camaflouge net covered hangar area" (because we had no hangar buildings per say just a few upside down u shaped hangars) on the dirt taxi ways to the dirt runway to take off and there was no auto take off back in those days

When the Vh's looked like square chickenwire buildings and you could sit beside them and kill a spawning tank by shooting through the wall?

Love the squid!  I remember one of the hangars had a pin-up inside... of a sheep!  Not sure if its still there or not.

Remembering when there were GV spawns to strats that were scattered about.  You could spawn to an nme strat with an osti or an SDK and lay waste to it then wait for a train to come in a blow it up too. It was a victimless diversion just for the sheer joy of hearing things explode...

It was also fun to resupply  a friendly one and get enough perks for a tiger :)

Pizza.
Which IMO was the best map for combined GV and air attacks.

Some didnt like the color, Which could have been changed though I had no prob with it.
The only thing I didnt like about it was the way the countries were initially laid out

dropping a goon full of troops on nme base, just behind the hangars, and admiring the auto-ack turn the base into a giant disco ball. Always made me laugh.
