You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Nostaligic, but not AH  AW3, havent been playing AH long enough, but it's still on point for sim fans.

I remember King of the hill and winning too, (go me, YaY!) using the tactic of flying inside a volcano's caldera.

I also remember a fantistic tactic in AW3 was the double immelman

Stall fighting in an A26

I was awesome in a P40 (I suck hard here though :/)

The little lines our CO drew in the mission briefing for our route, which we almost never followed.

Upping a mission many many sectors away from the enemy base on the deck, because we knew the enemy would never look down, and it worked! (still showed dar)

The F4UD being the most similar aircraft to AW3 when I joined AH.  I remember dogfighting Badz one on one alot in it.  (and if he's no longer around, I always won :D)

Another thing for the "they never fight each other" and "nothing but hording and ganging these days" guys...

Remember when the war victory requirement was getting ONE country down to 5 bases and holding more of that country than the 3rd country? Up to several resets in 24 hours by piling on one and the same underdog country with both "big ones" avoiding the battle between them on the way to reset...

I remember when there were not any "uncapturable" bases and winning the war was done by capturing all of one country's bases, while having more bases than the surviving third country.  When a country got down to one base it was an epic dogpile and the losing country fighting to the last man to hold the base.  Funny thing is, I don't recall guys coming in to drop all the hangers at teh last base and halt the fight in those situations, as is so common today. It was more fun for all to fight to the death over that last base.

7/10 aircraft in the skies were La7's.

It was the same way when the C-Hog was released, and lasted quite a while.

What about car bombing buffs? I think this was A/H 2?

In A/H at the start you had a giant pizza and bottle of Shiner Bock at one of the fields. The FDB used to defend that base with the tenacity of someone defending their own home!   :rofl

Anyone mention the trains that shoot you down while your rtb?
When I die bury me in a P38.

I watch day after day, week after week, tour after tour, the Bishops and Rooks take bases and win maps while the Knights stand there with their thumbs stuck in their butts. It's just pathetic!
