Help with a Saitek X-36
« on: July 17, 2001, 04:36:00 PM »
Howdy- I posted a message in the Tech Support board, but I doubt if many people go there.  I need help in setting this sucker up!  The second hat switch will NOT be a hat switch for some reason.

Could also use some help in figuring out how all the crazy switches and stuff on the throttle translate into things I can use in the game.

you must set up a profile for the game in the saitek profiler.that is a program that should have come with you saitek stick.right now you stick is just running a default gereric profile for the game.

CC.. I did figure out how to do that.  However- if I try to set the 2nd hat to HAT in the profiler, it deselects Hat 1 as HAT.. apparently even tho this thing comes with 2 hat switches on the stick, only one can be a hat switch at a time?

Best way to setup saiteks POV:s is to use numpad inputs for both hats.
That way you can setup views fast and free of AH:s setup disabilities. Also, if AH gets corrupted or deleted, you dont lose your setups. You can then also use pinkie switch to maximize possibilities eg. Hat1=normal views, Hat2=up views and Hat1+pinkie=down views.

In fact, i have all my buttons as default key commands. I dont use any directX inputs.
