Yes, you'll have to install all drivers fresh.

Windows 7 is £80  and my on board sound has gone to pot, the price of replacing both is 1/5 of price of new pc  :)

i might wait 6 months and get a new I7 pc  :salute

Thanks for the input by the way :salute

Not quite correct since you'll need to pay for the license also to the new pc and a pci-e sound card costs you 15 pounds max. If you have several pc:s at home you can get the W7 family pack of 3 licenses for 110 pounds or so.

Yes, you'll have to install all drivers fresh.

Not necessarily all, win7 has lots of drivers included.

Upgraded to W7 this year and never looked back. Has some great features or at least useful. My daughter didn't want it but I told her it was very good and gave it to her when I built her computer. She is very satisfied.

win7 doesnt have all the drivers.  didnt have any for my mobo.  every time i reinstall i need to use my cd, since i cant connect to the internet till my Realtek Ethernet drivers are installed.

the box is prettier than when vista came out  :D.  actually never had vista, but I like the fact that it installs in about 20 min as compared to hours with xp.  also it will d/l most drivers automatically than xp of course sometimes this annoys you because you dont want them downloaded.  and oh yeah, my fr increased on the same computer as compared to xp.
