a love/hate relationship with the C.202
« on: December 29, 2011, 05:27:11 PM »
Love it for being such a fun plane to fly and fight almost anything.  Hate having just two peashooters, bad aim and enemies who won't hold still.

To be fair to my opponent, I started this fight with the advantage and he never gave up.  Landed many 1 ping shots on him that if even a few were cannon shells would mess him up.  And the very end of the fight is so frustrating.  For me at least.  Pause the film right before it ends and look at both planes in external view.  It was a fun fight though and think you will enjoy watching.  Feel free to offer advice on what could or should have been done on my part.

File size is 2.37mb, so the bb won't host it.  Here's the mediafire link:

Just my opinion mind you but,

Your pursuit looked a bit much to the lead side.  You never really entered a pure position.  Following his flight path might have offered better shots and kept you behind him even in the rolling scissors.

That makes sense.  I was more or less behind him until the very end, though.

IMO you were never "behind him".  Thats why his rolling scissors ate you up and forced overshoot.  Your rolling scissors were working well but you got back on the throttle before overshoot was complete.

Not that I am a trainer or anything, but it just didnt look right inside his flight path.

I loved the C.202 and C.205, although acceleration and "fuel" are a pestering issue, I found true love in flying them, kind of like going from a Ford Pickup to an Italian Sports car.

They are a pretty nice match up for latewar, but beware those pesky bb's on the c202 are tough to handle at times, I miss the instant death by deflection shots like the C.205 has.
