Looking for a router/hub, need suggestions.

I'm looking for a router model recommendation. One that you might find in the average Best Buy store.

This will be a gateway device, hooked to a cable modem and sharing a single IP amongst all connected computers. It needs wireless but at least 2 wired ports (plus network in), so most likely looking for a 4-port with wireless.

Feature-wise, it needs DHCP because it's the gateway. I'd like it to have a firewall or some protection, naturally. It needs to be VPN compatible.

ideally: I want something that will last, maybe that has decent setup options in the control screen. Something that can assign an IP directly would be cool for my networking but not vital.

I need to pick up one pretty soon (on the way home today, basically), and was looking for suggestions or recommendations. Naturally it also should work well with Aces High!

I have a Netgear WNDR3700 that I've been very happy with. It's running behind an AT&T 2wire in a similar setup that you mentioned.

Thank you. I went with that suggestion and it's working well so far.   :aok
