AH2 Helps in Other Games
« on: January 12, 2012, 09:58:46 PM »
So I was playing Battlefield 3 a few minutes ago, and owing to my AH2 experience I hopped in the jets.  The graphics are fabulous, but the realism just isn't there.  There is no E-management, no advantage to striking from above, nothing even remotely comparable to AH2.  Except the tactics.  I tell ya, those missle-users have forgotten the basics of ACM.  They all use fancy flares, but all you have to do to dodge a missle is a break turn and an immelman.  I can't believe how naive they are, a few minutes in the MA's should smarten 'em right up.

I can't wait to see what happens when the AH crowd tries WoWP. Especially if they have mixed test servers, the guys in Russia are screwed.
You started this thread and it was obviously about your want and desire in spite of your use of 'we' and Google.

Probably because we don't have invisible tanks and prototype tanks that 1 hit kill everything.

As for the OP, I've unlocked all jet equipments and the guided missile, air radar and autoloader is my set up. Once you get the Below Radar perk, nothing can stop you except MGs and AAAs. 99% of the pilots in BF3 doesn't know hoot about flying, and I grin evilly whenever a jet map starts loading, because I know that THAT sky, is mine. :devil

A little tip, watch your Gs meter in the cockpit. The higher it is, the tighter your turn. If you tap S(default de-accelerate) you can get a small turn boost. The Su-37 and F18 can hold on its "butter" zone by constantly tapping S, which is around 300mph. (Normal is 350mph without tapping). The F35, A10, and Su25 can only get a small boost because their "butter" zone seems to be an exact number, 290-310, and it's almost impossible to tap S and keep it at that speed. So you can only tap S once, get a small boost in turning, kick in afterburner, tap S again and rinse/repeat.

Not a lot of people know about this, and the tip in the loading screen is wrong when it says faster means better turning.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

One of the hardest things, though, is getting missiles.  You don't get points if he bails, and the mini gun is woefully underpowered when dealing with jets.  I still need to figure out how much to lead my shots because while I can get on a guy's 6 o'clock, I just can't seem to deal that knockout punch.  Any tips for earning my flares and missles?

The Nazis had pieces of flare that they made the Jews wear...
