That's polished. You wouldn't see bare metal like that on anything but a show plane.

Hi,
beautiful skin, the detail is superb.  But, just to let you know, 549 Sqn, like its sister 548 Sqn was not a RAAF sqn.  They were both RAF sqns with RAF pilots - although the ground crew were Australian.  This aircraft, although normally Dave Glaser's, was also flown as you say by the CO, Sqn Ldr Eric Bocock, and on 2 sorties by Flt Lt 'Nick' Carter - my dad.
