upping 40 storches and bailing to run to the map room doesnt sound like a PS3 video game to you?  I mean if this is what the game is turning into and where HTC wants it to go then so be it, its their game and money but will be interesting to see how many stick around.

Grumpy...

First off... take a deep breath and relax man.   :D

Second... I am sure HTC will address the matter.  Either they will say that this is how it is intended to work, or they will create a new hangar that the storch will spawn from, or they will assign the storch to the VH (which is where is was in the Beta) .  I think the 3rd is what they will do for now... but ultimately the storch needs a home of its own that can be destroyed like the others.

The problem with putting in the VH is that if it is... it will be tied to vehicle SCORE.  Yes... some people are going to have an issue with that.  So eventually, you may see a new little shack pop up at ALL the bases to house the storch, and any other new observer planes they are coming out with... as they have already indicated that "the Storch represents a new class of aircraft in the game - the observer plane".  This suggests there are more on the way.

Don't get angry because someone figured out that its possible to up a storch right now with the hangars down at the port and vbase.  Right now its a loophole.  If the game allows it to happen, then until its changed, its a valid tactic.  Just like driving your jeep inside a tank and killing it with the MG used to be... and they fixed that.

Bailing and running to the maproom with your pilot isnt the only way to use the storch like this... you can use the tail gun to shoot the troops from the air too.  The issue isnt HOW they are using it, the issue is that if all hangars are down you shouldnt be able to fly it at all.

It isnt SimJo's or Seadog's or anyone elses fault that this is possible.  And I am sure they were just as surprised that it is possible as you were.  But... until it is changed, it's something you are going to have to plan for.

Again... relax and let HTC figure out how they want to fix it.  There are better things for you to be "grumpy" about  :D

:salute  Always a voice of reason   :aok

I was actually very calm about it until the standard flamers brought out their flames.....  I usually let it roll off but had nothing better to do today so I flamed back.  I guess i should just stop being surprised that the players you mentioned by name, and many others, will find any way to exploit anything HTC leaves out there to be exploited and be proud they have done it.  I guess I give the general population to much credit.....

Was nice to see you in MW again the other night...   :salute

it has nothing to do with "change", it has to do with the unlimited ability to up a Storch, bail, and be near the MR in a pilot w/ 21 rounds of ammo.  It cam be done an unlimited amount of times.

I for one dont really care how the Storch is tied to AH, or what it is classified as, but if HTC didnt intend for the Storch to be used as a last line of defense like it is at ports and v-bases, then classifying the Storch is the most logical way of eliminating the problem.  So take your "scared of change" and shove it right up your backpack.

"Troops are out, did anyone strafe the map room"

Easy!

^^^^^^^^  this is my favorite part of base capture.   Really ticks someone off to be standing there in the doorway of the map room waiting to kill the goons, and bam in the tower.  Makes me all giddy to ruin someones "base save" like that.    :devil

The new version has introduced the Storch.  I was just in MW working in the bish trying to take a Port.  Hanger was down, tiger and wirb were up.  We killed both the tiger and Wirb.  I made another pass on the field to check guns and saw a chute on the ground.  I couldnt figure out where it came from.  After getting really pist and yelling at my computer i did some checking and even with all hangers down at a vbase or port a storch can still be upped.  You can then bail from the storch while it is still on the ground and run to the maproom to shoot troops.  Not sure if anyone in LW has tried this yet but MW is rampant with players gaming the game.  Simjoke has taken it to a whole new level.  HTC needs to do something about this ASAP.  Whats to stop and entire country from upping 40 storches at ports and vbases over and over again to shoot troops.  Good luck killing all the little gamers on the ground.

I think it's quite funny and awesome. Is it any less gamey then 30 peeps gangraping a port or vbase?  I think not!

You are thinkin about it all wrong, now there is opportunity for tards to vulch at a port or vbase, be thankfull, your score will improve  :aok

Here's a clue---> vulch the storch or bail from your plane and pop a cap indaass of the doods doin this  :aok

Why, how nice of you to ask!  To me, capturing an enemy airfield deep in the heart of the enemy country by dropping the Dirty Dozen on it sounds very much like a PS3 video game.  So having 40 light aircraft emerge to oppose them doesn't strain my credulity any further.

Base capture in this game is an abstraction.  You can sit back and think, "Hey, this is sort of a representation of how the Germans captured Crete, or Holland maybe," but you can't (or...you shouldn't..) think that twelve guys can capture an enemy airfield and town.  The janitors alone would prevent that.  So if 40 Storchs rise out of the ground, climb into the air, drop their pilots and thereby create an OpFor, I don't have any problem thinking "Hey, this is sort of a representation of how base security might actually shoot at the parachutists."

I sense that you're just upset that base capture has become different and perhaps more difficult.

Easy!

Every time I have helped capture a field I have heard someone say......Strafe the map room !

Does not seem like a big deal to me. You can deliver troops to the map room and often some downed pilot has already chuted in and is waiting to kill your troops.
You are probably going to see the map room bombed on a regular basis.

To the Kind Sir who is acting like a Loony Bird,

If you kill all of the hangers you will not have the problem of the defenders launching the plane from the field let alone bailing out from it. I also believe that sraffing the maproom was mentioned in a previous post and has been a mainstay of play during a base captures.

I reach into my backpak and pull out the "Scared of Change" and place it right here for you again,  my fine feathered friend.
