Headquarters
« on: January 27, 2012, 08:09:32 AM »
As of now, it is pointless to attack a HQ because before you even leave the sector, supplies are already being dropped.

Either:

1. Make it un-resuppliable
2. Increase the amount of supplies needed, like A LOT.
3. Place a "Resupplying Factory" at the strats or next to it. If you take that down, all resupplies are disabled. (Or supplies, both GV and field, will only be available by C47.

the game is concentrated on combat, not on shaking the screen.

+1 on the NO RESUPPLYING HQ.

that's like saying it's pointless you kill an airplane because it will respawn before you make it back to your base.  be happy you shut it down and leave it at that.

I like idea #2 and #3, it could encourage more second-phase/tier HQ destroying missions - the ones that are usually comprised of long-range fighters and come sweeping in over an HQ after it's destroyed, wrecking havok upon any enemy C47 brave enough to try and resupply the striken HQ.

1) is a doozy, as you can't have it take too long to pop.  Maybe 15-20 minutes?
If 1 is accepted, then 2 and 3 are not needed.

If 1 is not accepted:
2) could be set to 2-4 times of what is required now.  I'd lean towards 4 times to start, then lower if needed.

3) I'm on the fence about...

A question I have is (currently), what exactly resupplies the HQ if you leave it to it's own?  If you were to park a tank to deal with the trains that come in to the HQ, would that actually affect when the HQ pops if no one bothered to resupply it?

I'd be OK with HQ being down for 45 minutes to 1 hour - it has to long enough to make it worth the trip for the bombers, and enough to motivate the defenders who want to keep dar to do something about it.

We can make the number of base supplies needed for the HQ to be equal to the number of thousand pounds needed to drop it.

if hq stays down for 45 min to 1 hour then most people are either gonna log or switch countries since they wont be able to find a fight easily.  hitech knows this that's why hq can be resupplied.  you guys really gotta think sometimes.  it's not all about you :).
