109K4 stall fighting

Help me out folks. I'm no Adolf Galland, but I'm no 2 weaker either. I keep having problems get the 109K to "stabilize" enough for a shot with speeds under 150mph. In other words, if the other guy I'm chasing starts dumping flaps and chopping throttle, and I do the same, by the time I get to the 100mph mark, I either stall violently and drop out of the sky, or is unable to get my crosshairs on target for more than a few milliseconds.

I can aim well enough, leading targets, and dumping Gs, but at low speeds, I can't control the plane long enough to aim at all. I found it better to just go full throttle regardless if they dump speed or not, so that I can still aim, even if my allotted time to fire is smaller. This works against slower planes or guys who can't aim, but for those who CAN, if I don't kill them on the initial pass, once I overshoot, I get hammered by rounds.

I know Krupnski is good at this stuff, cause he's the one who schooled me, hehe. So Krup, if you or any others who fly the same way you do could help me out or set up a training session, that'd be awesome. I'm free weekdays between 3:00PM EST and 7:00PM.

Watch some of Joach1ms videos in his sig. Pay attention to the throttle & flap work. The 109 has some serious torque & you need to throttle back often times to keep that torque at bay.
Lets keep the stupid to a minimum.

Sounds like a joystick issue.  Might want to look at the scaling etc...  It's really easy to want to pull too much elevator in a fight...  Although my issue has alwyas been the higher speed stall in the 109...  At low speeds with the flaps hanging out the 109 is more controllable then most of the rest of the plane set (F4u's excluded)....

Found turning off combat trim.. makes it much easier once the flap fighting starts.

As PfactorDave mentioned, the K4 isn't an ill handling plane at low speeds, there are many that are far worse.  The biggest trick with the latter 109's at low speeds is throttle control.  The one thing flying the 109 taught me more then anything else was throttle control, becouse it was so critical in flying it in a knife fight environment.  One of the best ways to learn this skill is to to go to the TA or offline, and force yourself to fly low and slow, stay under 125mph and force yourself to change directions, rapidly without stalling, you'll often find you'll have to completely power off in some instances, and have to be real gradual coming back into the power a lot of the time.  Once you get comfortable with this get with someone comfortable in a K4 and work on low speed rolling scissors, this is where you earn your money with throttle and flap work.  It's not an easy plane to be aggresive with at low speeds, but it's a very rewarding plane once you start to figure it out.
