Custom Arenas - Icon Range Settings

Icon Range Settings do not take effect for tail gunners in multi-crewed vehicles.  So even though you may set the icon range to 1k, if someone joins as a tail gunner they will have the full 6k icon range.

have you adjusted the vehicle observer range?

Perhaps it's the gunner icon range? They would, after all, be a gunner...

Me too; we'll compare notes. It's something we need to make sure works correctly, especially for special events with limited icon range.
