Reading Bar's sig, gave me insight into this thread:  Where is the Quah?  :uhoh

Long ago, a Rolling Thunder veteran took me under his wing to show me how to take down an hangar in one pass in a pony.  He then proceeded to show me how rockets in the Pony B were effective at deacking a field from outside of the effective range of the auto ack.  These skills combined with sufficient numbers, improves the SUCCESS (some may call it Quah) of individual attack sortees.

This has been tempered by a few adjustments along the way.  We have had 1) increased amount and typed of field ack, 2) increased number of town buildings in the town, 3) increased number of hangars at fields, 4) increased number of ground vehicles with anti air capabillities, 5) increased effectiveness of radar settings, 6) I probably could go on......... etc, etc....

Only one adjustment that I can definitely say was in favor of the attacking side (maybe two if you count the flag that was added), and even that was adjusted from 50% to 75% and therefore another adjustment against the chances of success for attackers.

Now, furballs are great..... but just like everything else..... Too much of a good thing is no longer a good thing.  When you hear of folks talking about the good ole days of Aces High, and you want to discredit their nastalgia with 2001 posts about large hordes ruining fun, you need to either have been there to record what actually occured (in comparison to today's events) or take a look at the number of things listed above to drive the number in the hordes higher.

In a world that is ruled by numbers, it only makes sense that if it takes more than 50 percent of your country's resources to unleash their Quah against another country, that any attempt at using the lesser percentage of resources against another country will have less Quah.  (Please don't take these numbers as an actual representation of real AH events but more of a rule to show how easily a third country may become ignored?

there are many types of QUAH young one!!! :neener:

Thanks for the compliment (56 years young and getting more handsome with each day)  :uhoh

At least I end up with a handful of hair each day, collected from my comb.  :old:

Until there is another "adjustment" to the game play, there is no use in complaining about how anyone else plays the game.  Be it lemmings or trail blazers, at some point the carcass meets the turf.

If you guys fought in the skies of Aces High half as much as you do on the forums (or via PM in vDallas's case), the game would be better off.

Play however you want, it is your time and money each month spent in a game. However, in doing so it will continue to propagate the notion your entire squad is a bunch of nancy lemmings.

I know it...but this thread is such a waste of shampoo.  I am throbbing with anticipation to hear the REAL rationale' behind this ridiculousness.  A known hoarder (which is fine with me) complaining about what essentially amounts to his minions getting spread to thin in defending bases to do his bidding.

Nevermind....I just answered my own question...

My question is why do you want to prolong a war? Why have ENY at all. No individual likes being throttled by ENY. It's been stated a ba-jillion times on the boards.

Prolonging a lopsided war, on a crappy map that no one likes, by forcing players into planes they don't want to fly is a tripple fail.

There's a saying in Michigan. "If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute."

Same goes for the AH MA. It won't always be an even fight. But that doesn't require a software solution that forces an even outcome.  :salute

+1

You need to consider what this game has night to night and the dynamics of the hordes. The organized horde which is where a group plans to attack in #s. The unorganized hordes are fairly complex and you need to consider what map, elevation of feild, distance of the fight and action.

Some log in and you see that there is a large dar bar in a certain section of the map, high alt feild to take off on and fairly close to the action, most wont even consider if you are attacking country A or B...Most will not even CARE. There is no rhyme or reason.

What you are seeing from the OP is a classic case of "I cant get my game on because I cant control the situation". Map watchers generaly get upset when they feel that their fellow countrymen are not being productive unless they sacrafice their sortie to taking down a few ack guns in town rather than look for someone to fight or they feel the need to assume that country A and country B are in some sort of planned peace treaty.
