Vehicle Training
« on: November 20, 2012, 12:59:04 PM »
Playing for awhile now and it's fun. In fighters I can get shot down with the best of you. Currently having a good time flying heavy's and troops etc., and C47's. But guys ask me to bring tanks, M3's w/supplies etc.

Figured out how to drive an M3 w/supplies to base. But had no idea how off load the goodies or fire the gun.

Old fart would appreiate some vehicle training.   :old:

Whiskey's mono on mono time it probabley your best choice for a complete and thurough walkthrough.  In a nutshell though:

Unloading supplies in an M3 - From the driver's position ("1" key), open your cargobay ("O" key) and when at a complete stop within range of your objective simpley release like you would a bomb on a heavy (I forget the default keyboard key to fire secondary, but I do remember it isn't mapped to your controller/mouse by default for vehicles (although it can be, like I currenty have it on my own settup)).  Same method for droping/delivering all supplies and troops in GVs.

Firing guns - if it has a gun position, try to occupy it with the "2" key (or "3", "4", etc.).  Similar to bombers, you can steer with your rudder pedals while in the position, and returning to the driver's/commander's position is the "1" key.  There is so much more, like adjusting your gun sight to compensate for range, but that should get you started until you hookup with Whiskey.

Yeah, Wezel is the man with tanks if you are a Knight. Rooks have to bring up a fighter-bomber to take him out when he's got a Panther or a Tiger! Whiskey is the official trainer for the TA. Whiskey likes M18s by the way, if you want to learn about them. BTW tanker guys, I am trying out T35-85s now. How do I know the range of the con so I can switch from HVAP to AP? I'm guessing you switch if you are shooting at 1500 or over? So far because I am new to it, I just use AP. God the tank battle last night on tank island was amazing! Rolling thunder from all the constant tank main gun firing. I had to adjust my earphones cause it was wearing me down. Say, where can I buy some extra armor for my T34? I didn't have enough last night (back to the tower again).  :O

Tex use HVAP under 1k and to range the bad guy is something you need an "eye" for  and comes with time. Thanks for the complement. I'm not that good and there are better out there, I'm just aggressive and lucky
