On April fool's day, a mere month and a bit in the future, the first of ten episodes of the greatest show on HBO, if not television will air. It will be featuring some of the best actors from the United Kingdom, as well as Peter Dinklage (recently won an Emmy for his portrayal of Tyrion Lannister in the first season of Game of Thrones). Here is the link for the latest trailer if you haven't seen it already, which would of course, be crazy and near impossible.

The mighty Robert Baratheon is about to slay the Crown Prince, Rhegar Targaryen at the battle of the Trident. Some excellent artwork here IMO.
The second book in the series, A Clash of Kings, was by far my favorite of the five released books so far. The battle of the Blackwater Bay was the best battle scene written by G.R.R. Martin in the whole series - hundreds of ships and tens of thousands of knights, archers, and everything in between for about 50 pages of mind numbing medieval action. I can't wait to see how they shot it for the HBO series, but from what's been written on the 'net so far, a goodly portion of their entire budget for the 2nd season went into that single episode.
Also, at
www.valyriansteel.com , you can really embrace your inner geek and purchase battle ready replica swords right out of the books and television series. The wife got herself a copy of Arya's "Needle" sword for Xmas, and it is actually pretty incredible for the money. It turned the box that it came shipped in into swiss cheese in about 5 seconds at her hands....made me reconsider buying it for a second actually, as arming one's other half is not necessarily the best idea.....
