Deep Purple Mk.II & Mk.III put out some of my favorite albums of all time.

Mk.II: "In Rock", "Fireball", "Machine Head"

Mk.III: "Burn"

Never got into Perfect Strangers though. Might have to give it another try.

The current guitarist for Deep Purple is Steve Morse. Though he doesn't claim it, he's from Augusta, Ga. Went to school with my older brother, and I went to school with his younger brother. I personally knew him and saw him play MANY times with his band The Dixie Dregs. One of the best guitarists of all time....

When I was there in the nineties there was a pretty healthy music scene.  I used to check ou the local bands at The Post Office.  There was a band...  Can't remember the name... Dave sang and another Dave played bass.  Dave the bass player knocked up his high school age girlfriend and singer Dave went on to form another band called Kicking Train.

Good times.

Steve Morse has a new project called Flying Colors.

Mike Portnoy is the drummer.

My brother was at Disney in Florida a few years ago.

They decided to see who was playing at the Hard Rock.

Guess who? Yup...Deep Purple.

After the show they were hanging outside deciding what to do next and who comes strolling out with his guitar in canvas gig bag over his shoulder and some model lookin chick on his arm??

Yup....Steve Morse.

They talked for quite a  while, They said Steve seemed to be in no hurry to leave.

They had their pictures taken etc. And Morse just walked off into the crowd as if he were just any other tourist.

Sounds like a real down to earth guy.
