when i said better in some ways, i meant in speed, maneuverability, and now that you pointed that out, let me restate the stats: p-61c Maximum speed was 430 mph (690 km/h) at 30,000 ft (9,000 m), service ceiling was 41,000 ft (12,500 m), and an altitude of 30,000 ft (9,000 m) could be attained in 14.6 minutes. p-61c more info on it from another source: Armament: Four .50-cal. machine guns in upper turret and four 20mm cannons in belly; 6,400 lbs. of bombs
Engines: Two Pratt & Whitney R-2800s of 2,100 hp each
Maximum speed: 425 mph
Cruising speed: 275 mph
Range: 1,200 miles
Ceiling: 46,200 ft.
Span: 66 ft.
Length: 49 ft. 7 in.
Height: 14 ft. 8 in.
Weight: 35,855 lbs. loaded

Max takeoff weight: 35,000 lbs. almost 900 lbs less than P-61.
Range: 1,350 miles. extra 150 over the P-61.

I'd still take the B-25H. And what you described above (^) were characteristics of an airplane not a strafer

well  you can keep the b-25, it's a very good airplane, but at least this one can fly away from most fighters if you see them when they are a ways away.

The C is the super twin monster you want, it didn't fight in WW2. The B could probably outrun mid war single engine fighters with the exception of a few, but that's under Ideal conditions. Are you gunna fly it in it's ideal performance envelope all the time?

no i didn't know that the c variant was post-war. I'm not good in the p-61 topic. i do know that it is a good bird. and yes you will most likely say " you should read up more on your facts before you post." and well i did. nothing came up that said the c variant was post-war.

I'll be honest, I'd love to see the P-61B added eventually and I think it would see a lot of use in AH, maybe even to the point of being perked, but that use would mostly be based on its good maneuverability, quad of Hispanos in the belly and the 6,400lbs of bombs it could carry.

If you want the best night fighter that served in WWII you'd ask for the Mosquito NF.Mk 30.  It also has a quad of Hispanos in the belly, but it could do 425mph or so but could only carry a single 500lb bomb under each wing.

Both the P-61 and Mosquito NF.Mk 30 saw service during daylight as well as at night owing to the increasingly absent Luftwaffe and Imperial Japanese air forces.

Ok for the afficianados among you...

P-61B versus A-20.

We can compare charts and stats but which bird is better in the dogfight? I would expect the Mossy owns bot so its up for second place. My vote is P-61B.

it would be better at strafing than the typhoon and in some ways the b-25 h

We have a night fighter B-25H skin in game.
