I also have a question:

Is the aicraft performance data on the web page for the aircraft loaded to 50% fuel and lightest armament load?

Partially OT but (I posted it in the bug section as well) some days ago I was trying an heavy P38. After dropping ext tanks, with my surprise, I noticed no speed increase.
AFAIK (Luftwaffe data), every drop tank had about -30Km/h effect on TAS.

When you can do a 3g loop in a fully fuelled Flying Fortress with 6,000lbs of bombs and two dead engines, you stop worrying about the P-38 going too fast with droptanks on...

  Juzz, listen this.
Two days ago I merged with a Typhoon, avoiding to be hit in the HO.
While extending I looked back and saw, horrified, the "monster" turning 180° and gain on me.
Well, he shot me down. I asked on ch.1: "How did you do it?" He replied: "I really dont know, I'm even loaded with rockets ..."
Do I have a "WB Spitfire MkIX syndrome"?

Yes Citabria    ,
your right. I'd like to see how different loads affect the total weight. Just to know and to be sure it is really affected    .

Now, for example, I cannot feel big difference between a normal 190 and a light 190 (with 2x13mm and inner 2x20mm, that is). Same thing for the heavy and light C.205. Consider that 2x20mm Mauser and their ammo (500 rounds) weighted some 180Kg.

But probably it is my fault.

Citabria, Janes stole that from Falcon 1.0 circa 1987.

Yeah I would love it here.

Also I'd like to see a drag factor.  I.e. the current Cd for parasitic drag divided by the clean Cd.

P.S.  Data on the charts (assuming it is real life test data) is for max internal fuel and ammo.  That's how USAAF/USN/RAF etc. did testing.

Citabria;

Have you noticed that the P-38 with light armorment handling any different than with the heavy load of armorment?

IMO the P-38 just hits a brick wall on speed, with or with out DT's.

I would <gasp> swear the P-38 climbs better with 2x1k bombs loaded, or nearly as well.

I like your idea Citabria.  As I recall Falcon 4.0 also adds a drag co-efficeint for various loadouts.
