If you have subscribed to a thread and you want to unsubscribe, go to your Profile, then look in the "Notifications and Email" section.

And at the top, right of the thread there are a few buttons, REPLY, NOTIFY, MARK UNREAD , and PRINT, among possible others.
You can toggle your notification on and off with that 'NOTIFY' button.
