Interesting browser bug
« on: March 27, 2012, 02:38:08 PM »
Hello all.
I have come across some kind of a bug when using my browse(s). It is either a virus, nasty ad-ware, a prank or godknowswhat.
It works in a certain way. Let's say I open a page in Wikipedia. As always, some words contain a hyperlink, and are underlined and blue. Suddenly there are more words than logical, and on mouse-over I get a pop-up window at the mouse, normally an ad where scandinavian women ask for men older than 21.
Ideas?
BTW, a visus scan gave nothing, and cleaning out with ad-aware did nothing.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

Sounds like a feature...
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

I had the same thing. It came in as a Trojan virus, it used to redirect me when my mouse got close.

Problem seems to be solved. I ran AdAware, Spybot, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware all ,and whoops, it was gone.
I was pointed to a webside with some wares, - www.ninite.com. Simple and effective.
Anyway, I always wonder about the sanity of firms that stuff their stupid ads and programs into ones computer like that, for at least my reaction is to NEVER do business with that name EVER.
Oh, and it was not all ads about scandinavian ladies...
