"play" in stick
« on: March 31, 2012, 11:43:23 AM »
I am using at present a X-52 with no pedals. After 64 years of pushing rudder pedals, its been quite an experence getting used to this "twistie" stick, but I am getting there. ONe problem I need help with. There is to much "play" in the stick, in all three axis. Is there any way to tighten up the stick? The nose of my aircraft jumps around while firing guns, the B-29 bounces around with the nose upon disconnecting auto pilot. I would "pee" on a spark plug if I thought it would help! Anybody have suggestions?
Blue Skies and wind at my back and wish that for all!!!

Earl that is a known issue with the Saitek X-52. It was something I had with mine before I got the X-52 Pro model. There is a magnet mod that can be done but I don't remember if anyone here has done it. You might want to check the hardware forums over at SimHQ.com since I know a few guys there have posted about it as well.

I have done the magnet mod to two different X52s.  While it does increase precision, it doesn't do anything for the "play" in the stick while centered.  I think he's looking for more spring tension.  That can be accomplished with use of a spacer in the spring.
